Dailuaine 2006 Connoisseurs Choice
Sherry cask matured and bottled 2017 by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice series. Chocolate, almonds, apricot and orange peel make for a delicious expression of the Speyside single malt. Dailuaine Distillery was established by William Mackenzie in 1851 at Carron in the heart of the Speyside whiskey region. In 1889 Charles C. Doig was commissioned to design a new roof for its malt kiln and he duly produced the Doig pagoda roof, the first of which was installed here at Dailuaine. The design proved successful, was rapidly adopted by other distilleries and nowadays it is the symbol of our traditional malt whiskey distilleries. Unfortunately, Doig’s original roof was destroyed during a fire in 1917. Dailuaine 16 Year Old and Special Releases alongside regular independent bottlings are available.
