Craigellachie Distillery sits in the village of the same name having been designed by the renowned distillery architect Charles C. Doig. It was founded by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie in 1888 and opened in 1891. Craigellachie is one of the few remaining malt whiskey distilleries that continues to cool its new spirit in traditional worm tubs. Most of this Speyside whiskey flows into White Horse and Dewar’s blends of scotch but it is available in a range of independent bottlings.
