St Magdalene 1982 / Rare Old Series / 2015
A 1982 vintage from the sadly now closed distillery, St Magdalene (Linlithgow). Bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2015 at 46% vol, as part of their fantastic Rare Old series.
Littlemill 1991 / Rare Old / 2015
Demolished in 2006, Littlemill distillery is sadly now part of the Lost distilleries of Scotland. Littlemill was established in 1772 and is possibly one of Scotland’s oldest distillery. This 1991 vintage has been bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their excellent Rare Old series of malts. Bottled in 2015, 486 bottles have been filled at 45.5% vol.
Tomintoul 1968 / Rare Old
An incredible 1968 Tomintoul aged for approximately 44 years. Aged in refill sherry hogsheads until 2012, where it was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at 45.5% vol, as part of their fantastic Rare Old series.
Port Ellen 1979 / Rare Old
In 1983 the Port Ellen distillery was shut down and dismantled but today the remaining Port Ellen stores and the malting facility are owned by Diageo. What’s left of Port Ellen is in high demand partly since it’s very good, but also because it will never be produced again. A 1979 vintage Port Ellen, bottled in 2014 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Rare Old series of malts.
Glenesk 1980 / Rare Old
Bottled in 2014 by Gordon & MacPhail under their Rare Old series is this vintage 1980 Glenesk. 551 bottles have been filled at 46% vol. Glenesk distillery was mothballed in 1985 and dismantled in 1996 but it’s maltings still remain.
